Rather than fermenting grain, we ferment lemons produced from our own farm to produce the alcohol, which we then double distill with a Brazilian strain of juniper berry. This means that it’s lemon fermented instead of lemon infused, with the fruit forming the very foundation of the spirit.

As a result, Primos Gin’s lemon flavour is intrinsic, rather than simply layered on top. Expect subtle aromas of spicy juniper and fresh citrus zest, with a dry finish. Not too sweet, not too bitter – Primos is perfectly balanced, a true tribute to the cool clear waters of the Blyde River and the dramatic Drakensberg mountains.

The grapes for this wine comes predominantly from selected vineyards in Stellenbosch, Paarl and Swartland. Owing to the nature of bush vines, careful canopy management was exercised so that no bunches were exposed to excessive sunlight and that an even ripening of the grapes was ensured.

Tropical stone fruit flavours supported by a burst of citrus on the palate. Well integrated with amazing texture. Drink now or be rewarded for cellaring in about 3 years.
